# How Are Taxes and Duties Calculated?

The final amount the recipient or customer pays for taxes and duties depends on several factors, including:

- **Value of the goods:** Taxes and duties are calculated based on the declared value of the goods.
- **Type of goods:** Some products, such as gifts or personal items, may have reduced tax rates or exemptions.
- **Destination country:** Each country has its own rules and rates for taxes and duties.
