# The Importance of Insurance

Insuring your shipment can offer several benefits:

### Protection against Loss or Damage:

Shipping insurance covers damages, losses, and potential delivery issues. With this option, if any problems arise, we can initiate a claim process with the carrier, ensuring you are protected in case of setbacks during transportation.

### Cost-Effective Risk Management:

Although insurance involves a cost, it is often more cost-effective than bearing the full financial burden of lost or damaged shipments. It allows you to manage risk without absorbing all possible losses on your own. Typically, insurance covers up to $1,000 of the value of the items.

### Peace of Mind:

Knowing that your shipment is insured can give you peace of mind, especially when sending valuable items or irreplaceable goods. It reduces the stress and worry associated with potential shipping mishaps.

### Remember:

- Without insurance, you could incur significant losses if something happens to your package.
- Depending on the chosen carrier, insurance may cost 1% of the total declared value in the shipment or a minimum of $13.20 USD.
- Insurance cannot be activated for shipments containing forbidden items.
